Arsenal plot stunning swap deal to land £64m-rated La Liga star

Atlético hold firm but Arsenal see a path
Despite the interest, Atlético continue to insist their forward is not for sale. The Spanish club consider Álvarez central to Diego Simeone's plans and have publicly stated they will not negotiate. However, Arsenal believe the player's desire to move could shift the situation, and the Gunners are willing to include Gyökeres in a part-exchange offer to tempt Madrid into a deal.
The proposal would give Simeone an immediate replacement in attack while a cash balance could sweeten the overall package. Offering Gyökeres after only one season would be a bold and somewhat ruthless move. It suggests Arsenal may already be reconsidering the long-term role of a player they invested heavily in during the previous summer. If the swap materialises, it would raise questions about the club's recruitment planning, yet the potential upside of adding Álvarez's intelligence, pressing intensity and trophy-winning experience is clear.
From Arsenal's perspective, the deal makes sense only if Álvarez actively pushes for an exit and Atlético become willing to negotiate realistically. Otherwise, the club risks spending valuable time chasing an ambition that remains more idea than achievable operation. Arteta has long sought a fluid attacking presence, and Álvarez fits that profile perfectly.
