Liverpool handed Barcola boost as PSG chase Summerville

Paris Saint-Germain's interest in West Ham's Crysencio Summerville could create an opening for Liverpool to sign Bradley Barcola this summer.

Liverpool's summer rebuild under Andoni Iraola is gathering pace, and the club's interest in Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has taken on fresh significance. The French forward, valued at around €100m, fits the explosive profile the Anfield side need after a trying 2025/26 campaign.

PSG are fresh from winning a second consecutive Champions League title, yet squad stability is not guaranteed. Luis Enrique's attacking ranks already include Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Ibrahima Mbaye, making competition for places intense. Even so, fresh reports indicate the Parisians are exploring further additions in wide areas.

Summerville link changes the landscape

PSG have made contact with West Ham over the conditions for signing Crysencio Summerville and Mateus Fernandes. The Hammers have set a €50m price tag for Summerville and €80m for Fernandes, with discussions also held with the players' representatives. Competition for Fernandes is strong, with Real Madrid, Manchester United and other Premier League clubs tracking the midfielder.

That update matters for Liverpool because any move for another winger would inevitably raise questions about PSG's squad balance. Barcola has been considered an important player in Paris, but with so many attacking options already competing for minutes, his situation could become less secure if Summerville arrives.

Liverpool need elite firepower. Several additions are required to restore depth and quality across Iraola's squad, with defence and midfield priorities but the attack also demanding serious attention. With Mohamed Salah's wages now off the books, there is greater flexibility to pursue high-end forward targets. Barcola brings pace, directness and one-on-one quality, and his ability to operate from either flank would add unpredictability to a side that lacked sharpness last season.

Any deal remains complex. PSG are not under obvious pressure to sell, and the French champions are unlikely to weaken their squad unless their own transfer plans create an opening. That is why the Summerville interest is significant. If PSG add another wide forward, Barcola's pathway to regular minutes could narrow, offering Liverpool a chance to strike.

For Liverpool, signing Barcola would send a clear statement of ambition under Iraola. This is not a squad requiring minor tweaks. It needs renewed energy, younger attacking power and players capable of raising the ceiling immediately. Barcola would not solve every issue, but he would give Liverpool a forward who can frighten defenders, stretch games and develop into a central attacking figure for years. If PSG's activity creates even a small opening, Liverpool must be ready to move decisively.
